ZAMBIA PARTICIPATES IN THE FIRST-EVER UN-BIODIVERSITY SUMMIT
The United Nations hosted the first-ever biodiversity summit at the 75th General Assembly on 30 September 2020. Speaking virtually, His Excellency Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu gave a speech that outlined the efforts that the Government of the Republic of Zambia is making towards addressing the serious threats to Biodiversity. He further outlined the impacts that the COVID 19 Pandemic has caused on the Zambian economy. However, he indicated that the COVID 19 Pandemic presents an opportunity to re-calibrate our relationship with nature by rebuilding a more environmentally responsible world.
