The Unit is responsible for overseeing the development, administration and
application of appropriate Information and Communications Technology (ICT) tools
and ICT capacity building programs that reinforce efficient and effective utilization of
ICT in the Ministry. It also provides technical support.

The Department performs the following specific functions:
a) Provide ICT services, Administration and Management of the Land Integrated
Information Systems;
b) Monitoring, Evaluation and Maintenance of ICT infrastructure.
c) Coordinate formulation and review of Ministerial ICT Policies;
d) Coordinate and align systems and hardware specifications with user
requirements in order to conform to policies and standards;
e) Coordinate the development of user requirements in order to facilitate
development of appropriate solutions;
f) Install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain hardware in order to facilitate
provision of ICT services;
g) Conduct capacity building programs for end users on various software
applications;
h) Document hardware profiles, workflows, procedures and processes in order to
ensure business continuity;
i) Coordinate the management and maintenance of the ministerial website;
j) Network/Hardware and Software Management and Maintenance;
k) Management and administration of ICT related contracts;
l) Provide support for shared services and applications;
m) Establish and maintain an effective information system on the programmes of
the Ministry;
n) Server Management & maintenance; and
o) Database Administration and management.
